MailStream Plus error 1002: INVALID VALUE IMBOUT IN POSITION(S) 36-38

Problem:

301 is not a valid value for a ‘parcel’ IMpb STID.

Issue:

The user encountered an issue when receiving an error message in the MSRPRPT report related to the parameter IMBOUT. The user had assumed that the MailStream Plus™ job was configured for Full Service and that the value 301 was a valid Service Type IDentifier (STID) for an Intelligent Mail Package Barcode (IMpb) Parcel mailing. However, the error received was:

ML TYP 3 P R IMBOUT 458 R 238 9 C 301 301 M 489 ### 1002: INVALID VALUE IMBOUT IN POSITION(S) 36-38 *—+—-1—-+—-2—-+—-3—-+—-4—-+—-5—-+—-6—-+—-7—-+—-8

To resolve this error, what actions or changes need to be taken?

Solution:

The user received a suggestion to utilize the value 269, which proved to be effective in resolving the issue. It is recommended to consult the latest USPS ‘Publication 199: Intelligent Mail Package Barcode’ for up-to-date Service Type IDentifier (STID) values.
